What inspired you to start your business?
I have always made jewellery since I was a child, when I began to plan my own wedding and my sisters I was inspired. As a mother of 2 it was an opportunity for me to have my own home based business too in which I could continue to put my children first.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love the variety, as Bespoken For specialise in bespoke and unique jewellery I love the fact I rarely make the same design. Most of my brides have specific ideas, which they have found nowhere and struggle to find someone to turn them into reality. I was recently asked to make a tiara inspired by the Sydney opera house! I relish the challenge my customers give me.
What has been the best moment of you business?
Every time a bride lets me know how much she loves my jewellery, knowing she wears it and seeing the pictures are the best bits of my business, I love them all none stands put more that another.
I am working on hopefully winning an award, but until then my best moments are my customers sharing their appreciation for my work.
What are your plans for the future?
To win an award!!!
I also am widening out my talents to include everyday and fashion jewellery with a sister compnay Frippery Rocks, so watch this space.
We also plan to expand, we are working on a signature collection which we want to make available to a few select bridal outlets and shops, currently our designs are only available online.
can you give us a ‘Typical day in the life of….?’
I work around my children who are 4 and 7, In between the school runs mainly. But most days I spend time sketching, making, talking to customers and taking phone calls. I love what I do and often work till late at night! Not the best work life balance but Bespoken For is my life and as I work from home my family are at the heart too.
